Justifying the Reading of Two “Justified” Scripts

JustifiedSeason5_BWBannerxnvIf you are still mourning the loss of “Breaking Bad” and still looking for a replacement, then have I got a show for you.  If you haven’t yet dipped your toe into “Justified” then I recommended you just go for it and jump in head first.

WIKI ON…

Justified is an American television drama series developed by Graham Yost. It is based on Elmore Leonard’s novels Pronto (1993) and Riding the Rap (1995), and Leonard’s short story “Fire in the Hole”. Its main character is Raylan Givens, a deputy U.S. Marshal. Timothy Olyphant portrays Givens, a tough federal lawman, enforcing his own brand of justice in his Kentucky hometown. The series is set in the city of Lexington, Kentucky, and the hill country of eastern Kentucky, specifically in and around Harlan. Justified premiered on March 16, 2010, on the FX network.

… WIKI OFF

Justified-Season-3-Wallpaper-justified-27943438-1600-1200The show truly does play like a modern day western.  The character of Raylan Givens seems as if he’d be more at home in the old west – where there were less rules and more shooting.  Timothy Olyphant does a fantastic job at bringing the character of Raylan to life.  And I have to give a huge amount of credit to the other star of the show, Walton Goggins, who plays Boyd Crowder, Raylan’s occasional arch-nemesis.  These two actors will command your full attention when they’re on screen.

justified-fx-3x2cropjpg-20ed338caa66dcd8The show is currently in its fifth season and will wrap up with its sixth.  “Breaking Bad” aside, this is one of the best written shows I have come across in a very long time.  Its dialogue goes unmatched, which is why I chose to post two scripts from the current season.  Now if you have never seen the show before or just haven’t started watching this season yet, it might be best not to spoil yourself.  But if you’re just looking for a good read, then I recommend you dive right in.

Kill the Messenger (aired Feb. 11, 2014) – “An attack on Alison sends Raylan to Harlan in search of payback. Boyd scrambles to arrange protection for Ava.”
