“Return of the Jedi,” the third film of the original “Star Wars” saga was release in theaters on May 25, 1983. It was probably one of the most anticipated movies in film history. It was the concluding chapter in the story of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia (or so we thought at the time). And it definitely had a lot of threads to tie up from its previous chapter.

The movie was a critical and financial success, even though most felt it was the weakest in the film trilogy (we’re looking at you, Ewoks).
