Preview reels were shown last weekend at the New York Comic-Con for superhero shows “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and the Marvel Netflix series “Daredevil.”
As much as I enjoy “Arrow,” I feel that “The Flash” still beats it in terms of quality and fun. Lets face it, the folks over at “Arrow” need to take a chill pill and lighten up a bit. It’s just so dour all the time. Though, let’s keep “Daredevil” just as it is.
Back around the time that “Back to the Future II” came out you were able to join the “Back to the Future” fan club. What you received for your $9.95 was a full year of the “Back to the Future” magazine (4 quarterly issues), a patch, some stickers, a pencil, a mini-poster, an 8×10 photo, a membership card, and a kick in the ass! (Okay, I made the kick in the ass one up. It was other fan clubs that usually offered that one).
Binge-watching powers activate! On November 20, Netflix will premiere all 13 episodes of its second Marvel series “Jessica Jones” starring Krysten Ritter as the titular ex-superhero character.
The story follows super-powered Jessica Jones, who gives up the superhero biz and opens a detective agency. The show is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and therefore, will be connected to both the features and other television series.
“Star Wars Rebels” aired its second season premiere this past summer. In that episode we saw the return of Darth Vader (voiced once again by James Earl Jones). But that was the only episode that aired for the second season. The rest of the season continues next week on Wednesday, October 14, on Disney XD.
The BBC has released a new trailer for it’s upcoming “Sherlock” Christmas Special. This episode does not fall into the same continuity as the series. It’s a one-off special that places Sherlock Holmes and Watson back in Victorian England times. So by ditching the modern era, we get a look at what the series would have looked like if they choose to go this route. I love it!
Marvel has updated their feature film schedule through 2020. This should see us all the way through Phase Three and to the beginning of Phase Four. To think , I have to wait until 2019 to see how this Avengers thing wraps up (at least this current incarnation). I’m going to be like 105 years old by the time this whole Marvel thing plays out. Maybe by that point Westerns will be back in.
So a week before Ridley Scott’s “The Martian” came out I felt the need to read the Andy Weir’s book of the same name for which the movie was based. I only heard good things about it and those things were correct. I got through the novel in two days. The science jargon was a bit heavy, but I’m sure that people not as dumb as I enjoyed it immensely.

If you’ve seen “Back to the Future Part II’ then you know that Marty McFly and Doc Brown are about to arrive in future (our present). And they might be a bit disappointed that we don’t have all of the stuff they were expecting. No flying cars (which will really make that DeLorean stand out), no hoverboards, powerlace shoes, quick drying jackets, or dehydrated pizza.
