In celebration of the new “Veronica Mars” film that was just released (and reviewed in the previous post), I am posting two scripts from the television series.
For those who never heard of “Veronica Mars” it was a television series (originally on the now defunct UPN and later moved to the CW) about a teenage girl detective (played by Kristen Bell) set in the fictional town of Neptune, California. Though the premise may sound a bit child-like and silly, it was actually an extremely well written and adult themed show. The mysteries were on par with any crime drama currently on any of the networks (or cable). And if I were to pitch this show, I’d say it was “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” without the vampires.

Pee-wee Herman was, of course, the child-like construct of comedian Paul Reubens. His Saturday morning show “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” aired on CBS from September of ’86 to November of ’90.

As any Trekkie or Trekker or anyone that has any knowledge of the ‘Star Trek’ universe knows – “The Cage” was the original unaired Pilot that started it all. This was before Kirk or McCoy entered the picture. It introduced a Captain by the name of Christopher Pike (played by Jeffrey Hunter) and a much happier Mister Spock. J.J. Abrams later recycled the Pike character for his ‘Star Trek’ reboot.

I’ve been a huge ‘Doctor Who’ fan since before I could drink and fu…. uh, err, ummm… I mean to say drink milk and have fun. Yay! Milk and fun.
My first and favorite ‘Doctor Who?’ Why Tom Baker of course. I’m not ashamed to admit that I used to go to ‘Doctor Who’ conventions when I was a kid. Though I may not admit it on a first date – or a second, maybe third or tenth date. Probably best to wait until after the wedding. (Let’s just say that I’m very happy ‘Doctor Who’ has finally gone main stream.)
