Going Undercover With Two Veronica Mars’ Scripts

Veronica-Mars-DVD-boxIn celebration of the new “Veronica Mars” film that was just released (and reviewed in the previous post), I am posting two scripts from the television series.

For those who never heard of “Veronica Mars” it was a television series (originally on the now defunct UPN and later moved to the CW) about a teenage girl detective (played by Kristen Bell) set in the fictional town of Neptune, California.  Though the premise may sound a bit child-like and silly, it was actually an extremely well written and adult themed show.  The mysteries were on par with any crime drama currently on any of the networks (or cable).  And if I were to pitch this show, I’d say it was “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” without the vampires.

reg_1024.vm.ls.31313Anyhow, it was a great show that ended before it should have.  And it never got a proper send off.  So I’m very glad they made a two hour feature to help give the show a bit more closure (even though I did have a few problems with it).

So what I have up here is the script for the Pilot and another episode from the first season.

Pilot (aired Sep. 22, 2004) “Veronica’s junior year at Neptune High gets off to a rocky start as she is targeted by the P.C.H. Biker Gang for helping a snitch who later becomes one of her best friends. Meanwhile, her dad, Keith, forbids Veronica to investigate Jake Kane, a local billionaire and father of Duncan Kane, her ex-boyfriend. Ignoring his orders, she makes a shocking discovery about her family’s past.”

Drinking the Kool-Aid (aired Nov. 30, 2004) –” Against her father’s wishes, Veronica infiltrates what she believes to be a cult in order to rescue her classmates, but after meeting the people on the farm, even she begins to doubt their intentions. Meanwhile, her investigations into Abel Koontz’s claims about her family continue.”
