So I caught the new episodes of both “South Park” and “Modern Family” the other night. And I couldn’t help but make a couple of observations.
Observation #1: In “South Parks” season 19 (season 19 really?) episode “Where My Country Gone,” they gave us their version of Bruce ‘Caitlyn’ Jenner. I have to say, not a bad likeness. I think they pretty much nailed it!
By now everyone probably knows that Arnold Schwarzenegger is taking over for Donald Trump in next year’s “Celebrity Apprentice” cycle.
I do think it’s a bizarre career choice for Schwarzenegger, but after his weak box office performances since returning to the big screen, he might think that starring on this show will add a little good will to his name again and knock his popularity up a few notches. The show certainly didn’t hurt Donald Trump.

Hayley Atwell appeared at yesterday’s Los Angeles Comic-Con at the Reef. As any geek knows, she plays Agent Peggy Carter in the Marvel Films, along with her own TV series on ABC.

On July 7, 2015 someone took some amateur video of a foreign object quickly flying past a Virgin Atlantic plane which had just taken off from JFK. Though people are calling it a UFO, I think everyone knows by now that a UFO can be anything from a drone to a weather balloon (though this was clearly not a weather balloon) and doesn’t necessarily mean alien in nature.

It’s been almost 30 years since “Back to the Future” hit movie screens (July 3, 1985). It’s one of those timeless films that just doesn’t seem to ever age. And like another film that comes to mind (“The Shawshank Redemption”), whenever it pops up on cable, I can just never seem to change the channel. No matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old. It just so happens to be one of my all-time favorites.

I just picked up my copy of “Batman: Arkham Knight” for the Playstation 4. And I decided to buy the game guide as well (in case I got stuck somewhere along the way). And I happened to make a little observation as I went to check out. All I can say is that I certainly hope their gameplay is better than their spelling skills.

I guess it’s time to add another pic to the Hollywood Mugshot Wall of Shame. Only this mugshot is ripped right from the “Star Wars” universe.
Last Wednesday, Young Anakin Skywalker himself, Jake Lloyd, 26, was arrested in Charleston, South Carolina after leading Sheriff’s Deputies on a high speed pursuit that went for miles. Eventually Lloyd lost control of his car and crashed into some trees. He was charged with failing to stop, resisting arrest, reckless driving and driving without a license.

So “Jurassic World” turned out to be a huge smashing hit this past weekend. It made $208.8 million at the domestic box office and $524.4 million worldwide. That’s certainly a lot of moola! But I still think “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has a good shot of overtaking that record in December.
