Here is the new official trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.”  As you probably know by now, it’s Hollywood’s new thing to split the last book in a series into two movies so they can double dip into that big golden money pot.  Or in the Hobbit’s case, make three movies from just one book, because as you know, that 20 -30 minute dinner scene in the first film was extremely important to the narrative as a whole.  Hmmmm!  I fell asleep in that film.

Okay, back to “The Hunger Games.”  I was hesitant to see that first film.  I was afraid it was going to be another “Twilight.”  It wasn’t.  It was a very entertaining movie.  So was its sequel.  Therefore, I find myself looking forward to the conclusion of this film series, even if it is split into two films.  I just hope there is enough story there to sustain both parts.  It would be a shame to sacrifice story for greed.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.”

The movie will be released theatrically on November 21, 2014.  Part 2 comes out November 2015.
