Well, they did it.  The show “Community” made it to season 6.  And although network TV kicked them off, something called Yahoo! Screen showed them a little love.  Now maybe we’ll get that MOVIE they promised us.

I happen to be a big fan of “Community” and am happy (and extremely surprised) to see it reach a sixth season, considering it was almost cancelled many, many times.  And it is a show that has gone through quite a bit of turmoil and cast desertions.  It’s creator, Dan Harmon, was booted from the show only to be later welcomed back.  Chevy Chase was booted from the show, but not welcomed back (though he did do a surprise cameo last season).  Donald Glover left last season on his own.  And Yvette Nicole Brown decided not to return this season in order to join the CBS show “The Odd Couple.”  We also unfortunately lost Jonathan Banks.  He went on to reprise his “Breaking Bad” role on “Better Call Saul.” 

Joining the show this season are Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds) and Keith David (The Cape).  I look forward to their contributions and to see how they mix in with the other veterans. 

And though I am thrilled to watch a new season of the show, I am equally thrilled that the show didn’t end on what I thought was a rather weak pair of episodes last year.  When it does finally go out, I’d like to see it go out strong and not just with a whimper. 

Anyhow, the show premieres on this thing called Yahoo! Screen beginning on March 17 with 13 new episodes rolling out every Tuesday.  I kind of wish they would do the Netflix model and just present them all at once.  But hey, I guess it gives me something to look forward to every Tuesday (along with “The Flash.”)
