Donald Trump’s ‘Taking Fozzie from a Baby’ Time Cover Parody

So there’s that Time Magazine cover that came out a short time ago that depicted Donald Trump standing over a crying immigrant child.  Now clearly that was a Photoshop job putting the two of them together in the same frame, but it was a strong message all the same.

SNL’s “Bern Your Enthusiasm” With Larry David (Video)

Bern Your EnthusiasmEvery so often I think to myself “why the hell won’t Larry David do another season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm?’”

My understanding is that HBO would welcome it with open arms.  But interviews with Larry over the last few years have indicated that he is skittish to return to that well one last time.  He has gone on record as saying that he doesn’t like doing ‘finales’ especially since the fallout from that “Seinfeld” fiasco many years back.  So I’m guessing maybe that’s his hesitation.  He knows he would probably only return one more time and he doesn’t want to take any crap if he ended it on a low note.  I certainly think it’s worth the risk.

Watch One Of “SNL’s” Funniest Sketch in Years (Video)

Saturday Night Live TitleI’m an occasional watcher of “Saturday Night Live,” but I usually only tune in if they have an interesting guest hosting that week.  And unfortunately, I do find myself fast-forwarding through big chunks of the show.  I’ll watch the opening guest monologue and weekend update most of the way through.  But a lot of the comedy sketches can be cringe-inducing.

First Full Clip from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (Plus SNL Star Wars Skit)

During last night’s “American Music Awards” the first full clip from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was shown.  Though short, it does give us a slice of action involving the characters of Rey and Finn, with the droid BB-8 trailing behind.

SNL Parody “Avengers: Age of Ultron”

SNL Parody ThorThor himself, Chris Hemsworth, hosted last nights (March 7th) edition of SNL.  He was actually pretty good though I found the show this week mostly laugh free.  And even though you knew it was coming, they went ahead and did an “Avengers: Age of Ultron” parody.  I really didn’t find it very funny at all.  The best part was a line by Bruce Banner (Pete Davidson) when he said “I think I ate a guy.”

SNL Spoof “The Office: Middle Earth” (Video)

The Office Middle EarthLast night, “The Hobbit’s” Martin Freeman hosted Saturday Night Live.  There were definitely some funny moments during the show (which has improved as of late), but the best segment out of the bunch was the filmed spoof “The Office: Middle Earth” combining both his “Office” and “Hobbit” persona.  And I gotta say, they pretty much nailed it.  It also made me realize how much I miss the British “Office.”  I may have to go back and rewatch it now.

SNL’s “Star Wars” Teaser Trailer Mistake! Somebody Goofed!

SNL Star Wars Trailer Parody MistakeSo here I am posting another version of the “Saturday Night Live ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’” parody teaser trailer.  Only this time it’s because I noticed that on Saturday Night, they aired an unfinished version of the trailer (at least on the West Coast).  Several of the visual and sound effects were incomplete. But the parody trailer they posted online was the completed and finished version. So obviously at the time of airing, somebody at Studio 8H goofed.

SNL “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” Parody Trailer Plus Screenshots

SNL Star Wars ParodyWell you knew they were probably going to do it.  “Saturday Night Live” did their own version of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” teaser trailer last night.  James Franco was the host.  And for what it’s worth, they at least parodied the original cast in the trailer.  But as everyone knows by now, we didn’t get a shot of either Luke, Han, or Leia in the actual teaser.  But patience young Jedi’s.  I’m sure it’s on its way soon.  And I’m hoping it won’t look like this.

“Saturday Night Live” Marvel Parody Starring Chris Pratt (Video)

Marvel's Star Wars Starring Chris PrattChris Pratt served as host on Saturday Night Live’s 40th season opener last night (Sep. 27, 2014). As always, the show was pretty painful to watch. In terms of cutting edge comedy, SNL is far behind the times and stuck in some kind of vanilla factory. It’s too safe and catered. The show needs a shake up from top to bottom, and then, and only then do I believe it could turn into something magnificently hilarious. It needs to lead the way once again. And, yes, of course they hit gold from time to time. If they didn’t, the show wouldn’t still be on the air. But let’s face it, the bad does outweigh the good.
