Geeking Out Over the Star Wars Retro Action Figure Set

I remember a long time ago in a galaxy not so far, far away when the Star Wars action figures were first introduced back in the late 1970’s.  In the stores, it created a mob of people who pushed, shoved and trampled anyone who got in their way from owning their first piece of one of the very first blockbuster films of all time.   I remember this because as a little kid, I was the one being pushed, shoved, and trampled by the adults around me in order to obtain this Star Wars gold.  Lucky for me, when the crowd disbursed, the store brought out a whole bin-full of these action figures so I didn’t miss out on buying any of them that day.  I just got a little bruised in the process.

Since then, I have been separated from my little Star Wars action figures due to them breaking, or losing them, or just stupidly selling them off years ago because I had to pay for a little thing called ‘rent’ during some tough times.

Well, lucky for me and everyone else, Hasbro has released a retro line of the first six Star Wars Kenner action figures from back in the day.  Okay, yes, I can buy the original ones on Ebay, but they are just so expensive.  And worn.  And dirty.  And broken.  These new ones look nicer.

Now they did release these figures individually a few years back, so this is a bit of a re-release of those figures, but in a nice, convenient box set.

The action figures in this set include Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper.

Each figure has five points of articulation (remember, this was the 1970’s), are 3 ¾” high and all come with accessories (blasters and attached lightsabers).

Anyhow, if you’d like a closer look at this retro set, check out the video I made below.  And if you’re interested in purchasing this set, click THIS LINK.

I really do hope they continue this retro line of figures.  If not, then at the very least, can the folks who I sold my original ones to please sell them back to me?  Thank you.
